Torbat-E Jam: Refugee Guest City
The first thing we were told upon arriving at Torbat-e Jam was that this is a "guest city," not a refugee camp. Seventy-two hundred people live here, less than 50 miles from the border of Afghanistan. Of the two million Afghan refugees in Iran, only 90,000 live in camps or guest cities like this.
